Dominique Stéhelin, the co-discoverer of the first oncogene, unfortunately passed away in April 2019. The first Dominique Stéhelin Day is a one-day scientific meeting organized in his memory, on the initiative of some of his former colleagues. It will take place in the Institut de Biologie de Lille, the research center that he created.
The meeting will honour the first discoverers of oncogenes. It will start with an official tribute to Dominique Stéhelin along with a ceremony to name the amphitheater of the Institut de Biologie de Lille « Amphithéâtre Dominique Stéhelin ». Then, emphasis will be placed on science, with six plenary lectures given by researchers of international stature, who collaborated with or were closed to Dominique. The day will also include talks delivered by young researchers, as well as a poster session. Prizes to the best young oral and poster communications will be awarded at the end of the day.
