Nicolas Aznar, Researcher at the Cancer Research Center of Lyon in France, discusses an innovative 3D cell culture system which drastically increases the number of stem cells. They combine the organoid technology and an innovative system to create patient-paired samples (normal and tumor tissue of the same patient) in order to identify novel biomarkers and signaling pathways involved in cancer cell plasticity. This could all could lead to the development of translational research, in line with the “bench-to-bedside” policy of the adjoined Cancer Research Center of Lyon and Centre Léon Bérard.
