The 6th European Workshop on AMPK and Related Kinases is the next installment of a successful biennial series, initiated in 2013. The conference aims at bringing together leading experts and emerging scientists specialized in the role and regulation of the metabolic sensor AMPK. This encompasses both upstream regulators and downstream effectors of AMPK, as well as other kinases of the superfamily of AMPK-related kinases, as identified through studies conducted in various models. The scientific program will explore cutting-edge aspects of AMPK biology through nine original sessions. The program will focus on original and novel questions regarding AMPK, its roles in health and disease, and its potential as a drug target.

Functioning as a complementary event to the biennial International AMPK meeting, the European Workshop is designed to facilitate collaborations, knowledge exchanges and network building for young scientists. In line with previous editions, the opportunity will be given to young researchers and investigators to present their ongoing research and recent findings. Plenty of time will be reserved for interactive discussion through poster sessions and a social event will allow for more discussions and making new contacts.

Having previously been hosted in The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Scotland, the 6th edition is scheduled to return to France, in Lyon, from September 29th to October 2nd, 2024. Lyon is the third-largest city in France, and serves as the capital of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region. It is a dynamic metropole marked by significant industrial activity and a high level of scientific research. Lyon is not only a hub for culture but also stands out as a gastronomic capital, surrounded by numerous vineyards and picturesque villages, all worthy of exploration.
